BABYWEARING
TIPS
Mums are required to bring their own carrier.
We recommend carriers with a wide bottom so baby is fully supported in a seated position (as pictured below). Carriers that allow baby's legs to dangle straight down are not recommended. Stretchy wraps are fantastic for newborns, however, we find unless they are very high and tight, they don’t offer enough support.
Baby’s head should be high up on the hard part of your chest. You should be able to kiss the top of their head by simply bringing your chin down. Your carrier should be tight enough that when you hug baby they don’t move.
We ask not to outward face during class. Outward facing is only recommend for babies who are sitting unaided easily (and for a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes). Babies are better supported facing inward.
